Back to TopUsed the mixture on cantaloupe and watermelon. The slightly spicy salty notes highlight the sweetness of the melon.

I made this appetizer last night for a New Year's Eve party to not-such-healthy eaters and good all positive reviews. My recipe was very similar, but had a little more spice added and I'll definitely keep this combination on hand and make ahead, frequently. Here's what I used: 1 large lime (zest used for spice mixture, juice sprinkled over crudités) 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon sumac 2 teaspoons finely chopped cilantro (Not needed in my opinion) Sprinkle zest/spice mixture over crudités and serve. SO fresh and flavorful!

Delicious twist on the crudete concept. I substituted ground aleppo pepper and a tiny pinch of chili powder for the pepper specified in this recipe and it worked out well. It was a hit at my new years party.

I loved this idea and this is a keeper with the addition of the spice level punched up. Next time will double both the chili powder and zest. I’m also thinking of trying other combos: lemon pepper salt; tajin & salt; rosemary orange salt; mustard powder & thyme salt, etc.

Would this work with raw broccoli, cauliflower, snap pea pods? Asking for a friend :)
